George Lopez is a demi-god

I know this is old, but damn!  Vato is FUN-NEE, huh?  I post it here to wish you all a Happy New Year and to urge you to never forget your roots, no matter how painful some of the memories might be.  Being in love with being Latino is a bittersweet thing, even if you didn’t grow up in the barrio.  Through our trials and tribulations, as a people we perservere, and no one takes our cultura away from us.

Hidden in this video is the fact that George’s grandma was taking care of him.  Even in her frustration, she still showed love for him, just like all our abuelitas do.  I reflect on this, knowing that my own abuela is getting old and feeble.
